For the past two years, FFH has been lying dormant as the main force behind the band, Jeromy and Jennifer Deibler, had taken a break to focus on their family and other ministries, as well as tackle some of life's trials along the way. But today, Jeromy announced the return of FFH in 2009 with touring in February and a new Christmas album by next holiday season (FFH news highlighted in bold)...
"Hello and Merry Christmas. Jennifer and I hope you are having a wonderful and restful Advent Season. Our family is getting busier and busier as Christmas week approaches but we are managing to keep our heads above water. Unfortunately all four of us have been passing around some kind of virus. I got it first then passed it to Hutch who gave it to Sadie-Claire who gave it to Jennifer who passed it back to me. Hopefully by next week we’ll all be healthy. Sadie-Claire is feeling much better now that her cast is off and I’m feeling much less shame for having broken her arm (accidentally) in the first place!A few weeks ago Jennifer and I made an agreement not to buy each other anything for Christmas. We both felt like we have all we really want anyways so we decided to call a gift-giving truce and just watch the kids enjoy opening their presents. We went all the way with it; no gifts, no stockings, no cards. It was going to just be a Christmas for the kids. Then Jennifer blew it. Two weeks ago she informed me that for both an anniversary present (we celebrated 13 years on November 24th) and an early Christmas present she was sending me away on a silent retreat for the weekend. I was so excited, I’d wanted to do something like this for a long time and she knew it. The weekend was wonderful. I spend Friday – Sunday (Dec5-7) at a directed silent retreat at St Josephs monastary in Kentucky. I can’t tell you how powerful it was for me and the other nine retreatants who were there with me. We had several directed times of prayerful silence throughout the weekend, but much of the time was spent resting in quiet and walking the woods with the Lord. I’ve never felt the friendship of Jesus like I did on those quiet monestary grounds. The Lord really does speak through silence! It was a wonderful way to start the Advent Season; quietly waiting on Jesus.
When I got home from the retreat and back into life Jennifer and I began to discuss the future and how we want to approach next year. We decided, and this might come as a surprise, that it is time for us to go back to FFH in 2009. She and I have been traveling together with the kids this year and enjoying it, but we now feel like it is time to start reconnecting with our FFH audience. So after two years away from FFH we are returning. We plan to start playng FFH shows as early as February and a new FFH album is also planned for early next year. We also hope to release an FFH Christmas album in time for next Christmas.
We hope to see you somewhere out on the road. Until then, have a great Christmas and get some rest! Blessings in Jesus –
Jeromy"
